I got this email today:

Several weeks ago when a friend of me dragged me into a Juicy store (WAY out of my price range) I finally realized that the VS Pink! collection is totally emulating Juicy Coutour. Well, it's cute, and much more affordable, so more power to them! ; ) I'm actually becoming quite a fan of the VS Pink! line. I really like my yellow sweat pants, and their thongs are the only kind I wear now.

VS Very Sexy Makeup

Victoria's Secret recently launched its own makeup line, Very Sexy. I had a $10 off coupon I recieved for my birthday recently, so I went to my local Victoria's Secret Beauty store and checked some of their new products out.

I have a mosaic eye shadow kit that I bought from VS before they had their own official makeup line, and I adore it. So I was curious about some of their new mosaic compacts-- they have eye shadow, bronzer, and blush (left) powder mosaics, plus mosaic lip palettes ($18 each). If you like playing with blush, you may really like these-- they had a good variety of different shades in their mosaics that looked very fun. I liked the shadows-- they go on surprisingly sheer, and the colors are very pretty.

I also spent a good bit of time looking at their eye shadows ($12), and was very temped to buy Blindfold (a pale lilac) and No Strings (a darker, shimmery purple). They would have gone great worn with their sparkling eyeliner ($10) in lilac flash. I actually was very tempted by these eyeliners, they would be so fun to wear for a night out on the town!

The loose shimmer powder ($18) looked cool, too, but it didn't seem to come with a built-in applicator meaning I'd have to buy a separate brush for it. For $18 I'd rather it be a complete package. I also liked the gel eyeliner duos ($12, right), gel liner is such a great way to achieve a dramatic look that's much easier to use than liquid liner.

As for lips, they had a fun selection of lip gloss($12) and lip lacquer($12, left). I liked the lacquers, particularly Crush and Get Lucky, though these also did not come with any sort of applicator so you'd have to use a separate lip brush or your fingers. There's even a lip plumper (I'd expect no less from VS) for $18. It apparently has "Self-adjusting pigment [that] reacts with skin's pH to enrich natural lip color." Hmm.. asounds interesting. Perhaps I should've tested this one....

In the end I settled for an eye liner ($10) in Exotic Plum. I like that these eyeliners have a built-in smudger at the end.

My Favorite Work-Out Pants

I have 2 pairs of Victoria's Secret's Yoga Pants (one solid colored, one side-stripe). They are my FAVORITE work-out pants. They're soft, they fit well, and they're flattering. They come in an array of colors and 3 different styles (there's also the fold-over style to choose from) and cost only $29, which considering VS prices isn't bad at all.

VS also offers a cropped yoga pant (in solid, and fold-over) for $25. I'm thinking of getting one or 2 of the cropped pants, since it'll still be warm enough here for a while to wear outside, and to/from the gym.

We all know it's important to work out-- it's good for your body, and it's good for your soul (helps releive stress, etc). I like to use cute work-out clothes as extra motivation. These pants have become a staple in my gym wardrobe, fitting and feeling so much better than other styles I've bought most other places for the same price range.

Oh, Lord....

Ok, so I might be comitting fashion suicide here, but.... I kinda like the leggings trend. NOT ankle-length leggings, that looks wierd to me, but I really like the look of pants cropped just below the knee, which includes leggings. I don't know, maybe it's just the funky 80's vibe of it all. Take Lindsay, below. I know most fashion blogs blasted her for these outfits... but I think they're kinda cute. I love the cropped leggings paired with peep-toe heels. I think these tend to look best worn under a skirt or dress.



These, however, are a no-go in my book:





Cropped leggings, for some reason, like kinda cute. Full-length leggings that hit at the ankle... not cute. Check out Alessandra Ambrosio (bottom picture)-- she's a beautiful woman, a tad bit skinny perhaps... but those leggings make it look like she has chicken legs (and I have no clue what's going on with that skirt....). Full-length leggings are like skinny pants-- they're not meant to be worn by anyone with curves, and on someone who has none it only accentuates how incredibly skinny they are (in a not-good way).

However, they're still not as bad as THIS:



That's right. Victoria's Secret is bringing stirrups back this fall, calling them the seaon's "must have layer."

Does anyone even remember anyone ever looking good in these?

Let Me See That Thong

I am a thong girl. I even wear thongs with my jeans, in order to avoid the panty lines. Over the years I've done some informal research on different kinds of thongs, trying to figure out the most comfortable ones.

I tried cutesy thongs from trendy stores, I tried cheapy cotton thongs from Target, pretty lacy ones, etc. Some were comfortable, some were not, some would seem great untill I had to sit for extended periods of time in a class or plane ride and choose those times to become incredibly uncomfortable...

Then I came accross Victoria's Secret PINK cotton thongs ($7.50 ea, or 5/$25). I forget why I tried them initially, probably because of the cute prints and also how soft the fabric felt-- always promising. I've tried both their classic thong and their v-string thong now, and I have to say... I will wear no other thongs now. These are the most comfortable ones I have ever worn, and there will be no turning back. I've even worn them on long (5+ hr) flights and felt nothing. I realize every woman's body is different so these may not work for everyone... but they arew honestly the most comfortable thong I have ever tried. I've even tried out other Victoria's Secret thongs (like their Body by Victoria collection) and been dissappointed. These are it for me-- they're adorable and come in a ton of different colors and patterns, they're super comfortable, they're cotton (good for your nether-regions), and they're still relatively inexpensive.

So, next time you're out shopping for some new underwear, be sure to pop into Victoria's Secret and check these out. I don't think you'll be dissappointed.

Glossy

Lip gloss will be the death of me. I love, love, LOVE lip gloss. Can't get enough. And one of my most recent lip gloss finds is this yummy treat by Victoria's Secret-- their Beauty Rush Lip Gloss. It's glossy, it's sparkly, it comes in all sorts of delicious colors and flavors, and currently it's on sale in stores for 2 for $10 (or 3 for $15 online). My only complaint is that they are a bit sticky, so make sure to wear your hair back when you go outside so it doesn't become glued to your lips. But the sticky factor also gives this gloss extra staying power, and I've been amazed at how shiny and glossy my lips looked even after drinking a glass of water or eating a meal. One last thing, these also have the slanted-tip flat applicator which makes gliding it onto your lips that much easier (who came up with the rounded tip lip gloss applicators anyway?!?).

Indulge. You know you wanna. ; )

My Wishlist: VS Swimwear

As an Angels card holder, there are several times a year where I find massive amounts of Victoria's Secret catalogues jammed into my teeny mailbox. Summer is one of those times. New summer clothing catalogues, new swimsuit collection catalogues, special swimsuit sales catalogues, etc. And what else is a girl to do, but stare dreamily at the pages, lusting after all the cute swimsuits, inevitably ingraining to memory each new style, catalogue after catalogue, to the point where I, er, she can recognize a VS swimsuit from a mile away? ; )

Well, towards the end of last week I got my Swimwear Clearance catalogue. Below is a list of a few items that I would love to own, all reduced to a semi-reasonable price. Lust away with me...

First and foremost, is this plain triangle bikini, simple yet timeless and classic, at the very sweet price of $19. It comes in a variety of colors for you to choose from. The only drawback is the top and bottom come as a set, so you vcan't mix and match sizes or colors. But, heck, you could just buy 2 of them and get 4 swimwuits for the price of 2!

Now this... I think this floral bandeau suit is just beautiful. I LOVE the design on it. Unfortunately it's white, so I would not trust it in wate,r but how GORGEOUS is it?!? The bandeau top is $31, the bottoms $28. It also comes in a black design, but I don't like it nearly as much as this one.

This coral-inspired suit is just cute. I like the design, and I've been diggin brown a lot lately. You can also get it in solid brown, or in white with the coral design. Both top and bottom are $28.

Now, I ask you-- how unbelievable cute is this polkadot/"bubble" swimsuit? Again, white, which is untrustworthy, but this suit is just too sweet. The top is $15, the bottoms $14.

I'm intruigued by this floral swimsuit. I just like the pattern for some reason. I;m not even quite sure why. It also comes in mocha/magenta, but I prefer the black/cream color combination. The suit (both top and bottom) is on sale for all of $12.

PINK!

I remember first seeing these Victoria's Secret PINK logo sweats in the catalogues. My first impression was that they were... silly. Cute sweats? What? No.

Then I kept seeing them, in catalogue after catalogue. They began to intrigue me. As ridiculous as it may seem to wear ankle-length sweatpants hiked up as capris, I couldn't help think that they also looked kinda cute. Yet I continued to struggle with whether they were worth paying the money, did I really need them, etc etc etc.

Eventually I gave in (they were on sale, online). And now my favorite article of clothing to lounge around the house in are my obnoxiously yellow PINK logo sweats.

We all have our vices. ; )
